13 Years ago I changed the cold wet low lands for the tropical one. Being my whole life surrounded by water, Cozumel was an easy environmental change. One of the good things is that everything is still walkable in town, and easy to get to. Having a coffee with your friends seeing the most astonishing sunsets on the boulevard.. Like a lot of people I came here “just for a few years” and I stayed. Cozumel grows on you very easily, Why? What do I like best? The people are open and don’t discriminate foreigners. Just being close to the Caribbean water provides a noticeable energy boost. And although we gained a lot of new “modern” shops and supermarkets you still feel nature at its top in Cozumel. The magnificent Reefs, the beaches on “the other sides” hanging around on the plaza on the weekend nights. It’s all part of the Cozumel feeling. And if your in for a spiritual journey there are the “temascales" (the word temascal is derived from the ancient Aztec dialect for " the house of steam") and the Mayan Temple side San Gervasio which due to the high energy supports a life enhancing experience. The whole Yucatan peninsula has a high electro magnetic charge, but the energy in Cozumel for me is healing and inviting which as it happens gives you access to an expanded perception of yourself and the world in which you live.
