Helpful Hints in Cozumel and Mexico | Travel Documents needed for Cozumel
Until November 2006 American do not require a visa to enter the country, can use birth certificate or drivers license. However the American Consulate notified that starting December 2006, Americans traveling to Mexico will require a passport. It's also recommended that you have a picture I.D. |  | Money and Bank Machines
There are a number of money machines on the island, which work worldwide and dispense either Pesos or US dollars. The Banks can exchange Dollars to Pesos and are open long hours to accommodate tourist and are fluent in English and Spanish. There are also some currency exchange houses near central plaza. |  | Transportation

On your arrival, transportation service from airport, prices, are as follows: From airport to town $4.50, From airport to North zone $7.50 Near South $7.50 Fiesta Americana $8.50 Allegro $9-00 Occidental Grand and Iberostar $10.50 All this prices in U.S.CY.
Bus service is only available in town, mostly used by locals. There are many Car Rental Company's on the Island with everything from Bicycles to Van's. A good rental company that we recommend is Fiesta Holidays. |

Cozumel is a typical tropical Caribbean Island; so bring shorts, cool cotton clothes, and don't forget the Sunscreen. In July and August Daytime temperatures are generally in the 90's, In February nighttime temperatures in the 70's and rest of the year vary from 80 to 90 and cooler at nite. |  | Drinking the Water
Drinking the tap water is not advisable. Purified bottle water is provided to all Cozumel Houses villas and Condos. Most people can brush their teeth without any problem, but for those with sensitive stomachs using bottle water is advised. | | | |
